Africa & Europe
In Kenya, our team has recently conducted numerous trainings and capacity-building sessions as part of our efforts to strengthen the Criminal Justice (CJ) actors to enforce the laws that protect people from police abuse of power and sexual violence.
Pray that the individuals trained will utilize the skills and knowledge they gained for the greater good of the system and that they would pass on this knowledge to their colleagues.
Latin America
Praise God for the opportunity to support victims of violence in Guatemala by supporting local governments. This past quarter, our team helped with an informatic solution that ensures six locations of the Victim’s Institute can have a unified system to manage, collect and store information related to victims and their cases. We are excited to see improved systems leading to better services for victims.
South Asia
Praise God for a High Court decision to hold two rice mill owners accountable for exploiting poor families. These owners had been acquitted of bonded labor crimes in an earlier trial, but IJM appealed the case and saw the suspects finally convicted this month. Pray they would be sentenced swiftly, before the courts close for year-end. Pray that the news of these convictions would be an encouragement to the survivors who lived through years of abuse.
Asia Pacific
Praise God for the conviction of a woman who was selling the sexual abuse of her daughter online. The rescue took place in September and the suspect recently pleaded guilty, being sentenced to 24 years in jail. Please pray for the survivor as she navigates and heals from the trauma she has experienced.

Praise God for the opportunity to gather virtually for our quarterly prayer retreat! Staff gathered via Zoom to pray for the work of IJM and celebrate all that God has done this year. Pray that our teams would feel rejuvenated and refreshed as they return to their work on Monday.
