This week, we’re delivering thousands of petition signatures to the White House to demand the Biden administration uphold the right to asylum for all. If you haven’t already, add your name today!
Victory: Stopping police from using killer robots: After San Francisco lawmakers voted to allow police to use lethally armed robots, outraged community members and organizations—including AFSC—spoke out. Selective Service System won't be expanded to women: For the past two years, some members of Congress have tried to expand the military draft registration requirement to women. And this week, negotiators of the annual defense authorization bill scrapped expansion plans. Now, it's time to reinvigorate the call to end the Selective Service System entirely! Read more from AFSC’s Tori Bateman.
New AFSC fellowship focuses on opposing racism and apartheid:
AFSC is grateful for the generosity of an anonymous donor who has helped create the Stephen McNeil Fellowship. Over the next two years, the fellow will help us organize and lead a new coalition of "Apartheid-Free Communities." These groups will pledge to be "apartheid-free” by withdrawing all support from Israeli apartheid.
