The bill also gives another $800 million to bail out European allies that provided aid to Ukraine, strips out important provisions to end “Forever Wars,” continues the “woke” weaponization of the military, protects rogue FBI employees, authorizes a stealth gun control program, and in a ridiculous turn, contemplates coral reef resiliency, expands DOD’s climate change activism and bans sales of certain shark fins.  

Our servicemembers and the American taxpayer deserve better. I voted against this irresponsible legislation.

Moore County Update 

Last week, unidentified individuals attacked two power substations in Moore County, causing a mass power outage that impacted more than 40,000 people. My office continues to closely monitor this incident, and we are in touch with the local authorities. Thankfully, the power in Moore County is now fully restored. 

The people of Moore County are strong and resilient. I want to especially thank the law enforcement officers, first responders, electrical linemen and volunteers who came together to provide resources and restore power.   

Anyone with information regarding this incident should call the Moore County Sheriff’s office at 910-947-2931. They are diligently investigating the incident, and I look forward to seeing the perpetrator(s) brought to justice.

The Left’s War on the Second Amendment 

Congressional Democrats and their Deep State allies continue to wage war against Americans' fundamental rights. This week, Democrats on the Judiciary Committee put forward a poorly written bill that would severely encroach on the Second Amendment.  

My Republican colleagues and I dismantled their arguments, pointing out that their bill would have numerous negative unintended consequences that would criminalize benign actions and infringe on the Constitution.  

Democrats also blocked a resolution demanding that Attorney General Merrick Garland turn over records related to the FBI pressuring Americans into waiving their right to own a firearm. I highlighted reporting that exposed this scheme and just how alarming the tactics were. 

I will always fight to uphold the Second Amendment and prevent Leftist gun grabs.

The Left’s Attack on The Supreme Court 

After the unprecedented leak of the Dobbs opinion, left-wing activists harassed SCOTUS justices at their homes and vandalized pregnancy centers and churches. One man even attempted to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh. 

Democrats, instead of addressing this damaging conduct, continue their own attacks on conservative justices. Congressional Democrats and their allies want to delegitimize the Supreme Court so they can trample on the Constitution and the rule of law.

WATCH: 

Democrats on the Judiciary Committee even went so far as bringing a proven liar who now claims in the New York Times that Justice Alito previously leaked the Hobby Lobby decision. No other news outlets could corroborate his story, and he has lied numerous times before about the Court. 

It’s embarrassing that Democrat's attacks are now just hearsay and lies.

Investigating “ESG” Schemes

My colleagues and I on the Judiciary Committee are launching an antitrust investigation into corporations that collude to pursue Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies.  

ESG is nothing more than radical partisan activism masquerading as responsible corporate governance. These corrosive practices may violate out nation’s antitrust laws, and we must be relentless in investigating them.

The Twitter Files: Did Former CEO Jack Dorsey Lie to Congress?   

Twitter’s new CEO, Elon Musk, granted investigative journalists Bari Weiss and Matt Taibbi unprecedented access to Twitter's internal files. Last week, Taibbi exposed how Twitter removed accounts at the Biden campaign’s behest. Internal communications also showed how Twitter employees censored the Hunter Biden laptop story. 

Last night, Weiss exposed how Twitter employees built blacklists to limit the reach of tweets, accounts, and topics that didn’t fit the Left’s narrative.    

Twitter executives repeatedly and forcefully denied that they shadow banned conservatives. In fact, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey testified before Congress in 2018 that Twitter did not use political ideology to make content moderation decisions and that moderation practices were impartial. 

Did Mr. Dorsey lie to Congress? 

Twitter censored public debate on Covid – are they doing the same about the war in Ukraine? 

Next Congress, we’ll get to the bottom of it. As The Twitter Files continue to be released, we’ll be closely monitoring the information and planning for investigations accordingly.
