As we kick off a new year, we know that children in this country will continue to face attacks from all sides. Children will go hungry, suffer chronic illnesses, sleep on the streets, and even fall victim to gun violence. All of that can feel overwhelming.

So we want to share our motivation for staying in the fight: the children we meet every day who deserve the chance to thrive in 2020.

Children like Marcalye, who loves getting the chance to learn.

Like Allie’Lyn, who just gets to be a kid.

Children like Camren, who knows that his CDF Freedom Schools® site is a safe and loving space.

And children like Jaydehn, who smiles brightly because he knows CDF Freedom Schools has his back.

We hope these cheerful and optimistic faces will motivate you, too, because we need your support in this fight. We can make 2020 a great year for children, but we will only be successful together.
