Hi! Hope your year is off to a great start. You may be looking for what you can do next to help remove Trump from office. We've got you covered. Let's start with where we are in the process. Sounds good! Why was Donald Trump impeached again? Donald Trump committed (at least) two high crimes: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. We have irrefutable evidence that Trump attempted to bribe the government of Ukraine to tamper with the upcoming 2020 election by withholding critical military aid. Oh, I remember now. What happens next? Now that charges have been drawn up by the House, all eyes are on the Senate. Their job is to hold a trial and examine all the evidence of Trump's criminal wrongdoing. Lawmakers will then vote on whether or not to convict Trump of these crimes and remove him from office. He deserves to be held accountable for his crimes! We agree! But despite the irrefutable facts pointing towards Trump's guilt, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is refusing to conduct a free and fair trial that will consider the full set of evidence against him. Wait, why would he do that? Because McConnell is only interested in protecting Trump. He intends to prevent relevant documents from being presented as evidence and block firsthand witnesses from testifying. That doesn't seem right. Who wouldn't they want to testify? Someone like former National Security Advisor John Bolton, who has said he would agree to testify if subpoenaed by the Senate. Bolton played a crucial role in and has direct knowledge of the Ukraine bribery scheme -- and the American people deserve to hear what he knows about Trump's criminal conduct. It sounds like McConnell is rigging this whole trial. That's exactly right. McConnell knows Trump is guilty -- and tampering with the trial is the only way to protect him. Basically he's colluding with the White House so that the trial ends in an acquittal for Trump. I can't let this slide. What can I do to help? We're so glad you asked. You can text voters in key Senate states and ask them to call their senator to tell them that we know enough already. Trump abused his power and undermined our democracy. They must convict and remove him from office! You'll play a central role in persuading others to speak up and hold their senators accountable. And you won't be alone.
