I'll fight for everyone whose rights Youngkin would deny and whose voices he would ignore. My race is critical to preventing him from gaining a GOP trifecta in our Commonwealth.
John, it turns out Democrats weren't tired of winning!
Raphael Warnock's impressive victory in Georgia this week put a big exclamation point on a cycle in which Democrats exceeded expectations across the board — including here in our Commonwealth, where we defended two battleground House districts that Republicans went all-out in to win.
Now, as we prepare to enter 2023, Virginia is once again taking center stage in the political world. Democrats have to hold their narrow State Senate majority in order to stop the GOP's extreme agenda.
Democrats' current margin in the State Senate is just one vote. We cannot afford to lose a seat like District 33 — if we do, odds are that Glenn Youngkin will have a legislative trifecta that will pass anti-choice, anti-education, and anti-LGBTQ+ legislation at his beck and call.
John, Youngkin bet big this past cycle on backing far-right candidates all around the country. But I guess his red vest didn't equal a red wave. From Arizona to Michigan to Wisconsin, voters rejected election deniers for governor and they rejected candidates who wanted to advance harsh abortion bans.
After flopping nationally this cycle, Glenn Youngkin is looking to regroup at the state level and get his favored candidates across the finish line in 2023. I'm fired up to make sure he fails again.
I'll fight for everyone whose rights Youngkin would deny and whose voices he would ignore. But to win, I'm counting on strong grassroots support for all of these next 11 months.
