What is your proudest moment since being with Groundwork?
For the first year of Groundwork it was just a couple of us trying to put this thing together part-time, with Joe, in whatever extra hours and after hours we could manage. My proudest moment is any time I sign onto Zoom now and see a full, beautiful, and growing team looking back at me. We built a real thing! And the people involved, from staff to partners to grantees, are what make it extraordinary.

What does the Groundwork mission mean to you?
Groundwork Project celebrates the lived experiences and realities of exceptional but often overlooked organizers working 365 days a year, against all odds, to advocate for their communities and to hold their local, state and national elected leaders accountable in order to build a political system that is actually representative. Groundwork does this in order to prove that this is the essential work and the single best way to build sustainable political power for long-lasting change.

Founded by Joe Kennedy III, Groundwork Project invests in year-round, local community organizing in places Democrats have gotten used to writing off. With a focus on Appalachia, the Deep South, and the Plains, we support local advocates and activists working to build durable political infrastructure and secure power for those historically excluded.
