Local Councillors Support Campaign to Extend Zone 6
At a meeting of the Full Council on Wednesday, Elmbridge Councillors from all parties finally backed the campaign to extend Zone 6 to all stations in Esher and Walton constituency.
I plan to meet with representatives from Transport for London, South Eastern Railway and Network Rail to discuss this and my wider campaign to improve local rail services in the New Year.
If you are a constituent, there is still time to add your name to the petition to extend Zone 6.
It was great to welcome A-Level politics students from Wemms Education Centre based in Long Ditton to Parliament.
The pupils had a tour of the Parliamentary Estate, which was followed by a Q&A in one of the committee rooms.
Questions ranged from my role as Justice Secretary, to how Parliament works and the function of Select Committees. It was inspiring to see the level of interest and engagement amongst the students.
A big thanks to Ms Kelly, Mr Mitchell, Mr Budd, Mr Branfoot and the A Level Government and Politics class at Wemms for your excellent questions.

I met many local residents making the most of our high streets in the run up to Christmas. It was great to see people giving local businesses their support on Small Business Saturday and over the festive period.
