Good afternoon friend,

We’ve had an astounding response to the news that the Heath and Social Care Select Committee are holding an inquiry into assisted dying. This inquiry is a milestone - but the hard work is only beginning. A vital part of the inquiry is a public consultation. MPs will use the results of this consultation to draft a report and produce recommendations for government. Will you respond to the consultation today?

I want to be honest with you. Opponents will be using every tactic they can find to skew the results of this consultation. Their identical responses will pour in and make it look like opposition to law change is stronger than it really is. If you knocked on every door in this country 8 in 10 of the people opening the door would agree that dying people need choice.

We need to do everything we can to make sure that those voices are heard. And that starts with you.

I’ve put together some guidance so you can be confident that your answers are totally up to date and respond to the questions in the most helpful way - it’s there for you if you need it.

If you have just 5 minutes to spare today, please respond to the consultation and show policymakers that law change must come for dying people.

While this inquiry is certainly a win, it will take a lot of work to make sure that anti-choice forces don’t manipulate the results. We are doing everything we can to ensure that the Committee approaches the information in a balanced way that keeps personal experience at its heart.

Thanks in advance for taking this step to support change for dying people.

Many thanks,

Sadie Kempner
