PROGRAM UPDATES:
Day Laborer Outreach:
Our hearts are full looking back at last Wednesday’s Day Laborer Outreach! We spent the holiday along some amazing volunteers to not only provide some snacks and resources but to spread love and kindness to our beloved laborer community.
We spent time listening to their stories, and assessing their needs, and we’re looking to come back with the tools they need to help them perform their jobs!
We want to give a special shout to the Barrio Logan Food Hub, specifically SugarBear Sweets Provisions for donating 3 dozen cupcakes as a special treat for the laborers!
For more information on volunteer opportunities email us at

We want to thank SDG&E for spending this past weekend distributing care packages and holiday cheer to our day laborer community! This is the second year in a row that they have volunteered with us, and donated their time. We remain committed supporting this community with supplies, resources, and moral support.

Cold Wear Clothing Drive
Border Angels supports about 1,200 migrants in over a dozen Tijuana shelters every month, and at least 500 of them are children. Most of these families and children come from hot, tropical and subtropical lands. The cold they find at the border, often freezing, is unknown to them, and for this reason, many of them suffer from respiratory diseases.
This winter season we want to assist these shelter families with NEW cold wear items WITH TAGS. (Items must be new in order to cross into Tijuana, MX). We are in need of:
* blankets
* jackets
* sweaters
* beanies
* socks, etc.
We are in need of all adult and children sizes.

News Spotlight:
Biden Administration Considers Migrant Restrictions Similar to Trump Policies
The Biden administration is considering substantial new limits on the number of migrants who could apply for asylum in the United States, according to people familiar with the proposal, which would expand restrictions similar to those first put in place along the border by former President Donald J. Trump.
The plan is one of several being debated by President Biden’s top aides as the country confronts a high number of illegal crossings at the border. It would prohibit migrants who are fleeing persecution from seeking refuge in the United States unless they were first denied safe harbor by another country, like Mexico.
People familiar with the discussions said the new policy, if adopted, could go into effect as soon as this month, just as the government stops using a public health rule that was put in place at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic by the Trump administration and became a key policy to manage the spike in crossings during Mr. Biden’s tenure. A federal judge has ordered the administration to stop using the health rule on Dec. 21.

ICE inadvertently discloses personal data online of 6,252 immigrants
NPR's A Martinez talks to Hamed Aleaziz of the Los Angeles Times about the information of more than 6,000 people in ICE custody that was mistakenly revealed to the public.
The personal information of thousands of asylum-seekers was mistakenly revealed to the public this week during a routine update of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement website. Sensitive personal information of immigrants is supposed to be kept private to protect them from the violence and repression they're fleeing from. An investigation is underway. But for more on what this means, we're joined by Hamed Aleaziz, immigration policy reporter with the LA Times. So what happened here? I mean, how did all this information, personal information, end up on the ICE website?
