Dear John,
Hendrix is a vibrant six-year-old who was diagnosed with autism at age two. Some days are great, and other days, his mom, MeMe says are "a puzzle that we must find the missing pieces for." But, young Hendrix understands love in ways that lots of adults never will.
"I have a son who teaches me more about life than I could ever teach him," she says.
Still, MeMe knows there is more work to be done for so many loving kids and adults on the spectrum. "People should realize that people with disabilities exist, and they aren’t less than because of it," she says.
Today, in this Season of Giving, we’re asking for your support. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, your gift will be DOUBLED, up to $25,000 total to give children like Hendrix the resources, acceptance and understanding they deserve.
Friends like you have supported our educational programs that lead to a greater understanding of the autism spectrum, including our public service messaging campaigns to reach underserved communities. This initiative has been extremely successful in helping parents, who have concerns about their child’s development, recognize the signs of autism as the first step in getting an early diagnosis and intervention. And our Caregiver Skills Training program equips families with better ways to communicate and interact with their children.
"I am willing to educate and fight for people with autism and other challenges wherever I go," MeMe says, "not only because of my son but because I believe we all need acceptance and love." And right now, we can make twice the difference together.
John, will you join us in helping autistic children and adults in their journey to realize their full potential?
Your gift today will be matched to transform the lives of children like Hendrix.
Thank you
