2020 datasets now available from the National Corrections Reporting Program [ [link removed] ]*

The Bureau of Justice Statistics has released two datasets through the National Archive of Criminal Justice data. The National Corrections Reporting Program (NCRP) collects individual-level administrative data annually on prison admissions and releases, yearend custody populations, and parole entries and discharges in participating jurisdictions. The data are used to monitor the nation's correctional population and address specific policy questions related to recidivism, prisoner reentry, and trends in demographic characteristics of the incarcerated and community supervision populations. The first version of the NCRP data contains data for term records, prison admissions, prison releases, and yearend prison population counts. The selected variables dataset contains variables of interest including time served, characteristics, and offense for prison term. The complete version of NCRP data is classified as restricted access.

Correction to "Facility Characteristics of Sexual Victimization of Youth in Juvenile Facilities, 2018 – Statistical Tables" [ [link removed] ]*

Correction: "Facility Characteristics of Sexual Victimization of Youth in Juvenile Facilities, 2018 – Statistical Tables" report. In the Highlights section on the front page, the second bullet states an incorrect incident type. Estimates are for "reported staff sexual misconduct", not reported sexual victimization. This error has been corrected in the report with no other impact in the body of the report. The corrected highlight is:

* A larger percentage of youth held in facilities with 51 to 100 (6.6%) or 101 or more youth (7.4%) reported staff sexual misconduct than youth held in facilities with 10 to 25 youth (3.8%).
