Tuesday 15 October - Friday 16 December: London Road Lane closure for Cadent Gas works. Look on Cadent's website for details.
Following the gasworks, Nottingham City Council will begin work on a new segregated cycleway along Station Street and onto London Road. Find out more here.

Monday 5 December - Sunday 18 December: Brook Street and Cowen Street Emergency road closure between Nile Street, Beck Street and Bath Street for demolition works
Wednesday 14 December - Friday 16 December: Lillington Road Three way lights for City Fibre works

Friday 23 July 2021 - May 2023: High Cross Street (city centre) Road closure between Heathcoat Street and Western Street due to demolition works.
A52 Nottingham junctions (National Highways) End date: 2023/24 National Highways have identified junctions for improvement, see here.
Since Silverdale junction opened Sept 2022 National Highways identified an issue with trafic signals. The issue will be resolved overnight on Monday 17 October 2022, see here.

Walking and cycling
Nottingham e-scooter trial extended to 2024
Nottingham’s e-scooter trial, which began in autumn 2020, will be continued until May 2024. The operator Superpedestrian, in partnership with Nottingham City Council, will be using the rest of the trial to focus on measures to improve the scheme further.

Nottingham set to welcome new e-bike hire scheme 2023!
Electric bikes will be available to hire in Nottingham from spring 2023 thanks to a partnership between leading electric vehicle company Lime and Nottingham City Council.
A fleet of up to 700 Lime e-bikes will be available to hire on a pay-as-you-go basis in key city locations, enabling more Nottingham residents and visitors to enjoy the benefits that cycling can bring, from improved health to cleaner air.
The new e-bikes feature
- Built-in front and rear lights – with rear lights that brighten when the bike brakes
- Increased motor power to help riders easily climb hills and restart their ride when stopped/stationary at red traffic lights or zebra crossings
- A phone holder, allowing riders to easily navigate and follow directions without having to stop and check directions
- Built-in baskets to help people carry shopping or bags
- Range of 64km with batteries monitored by Lime so they can be charged when they run low

Colwick Country Park Access Improvements
The scheme includes a new multiuser path adjacent to Racecourse Road and widening/resurfacing of the existing paths around the southern and eastern edge of the West Lake. Read more here.
The park will remain open during construction and the works will be delivered in phases. Work commenced Tuesday 20 September and is expected to last 18 weeks.

More strike action is taking place between 13-17 December, and 3-4 and 6-7 January. The advice is to only travel by rail if absolutely necessary during this time as severe disruption is expected.

Disruption/Engineering works🚧
East Midlands Railway: There are a number of minor service disruptions & changed train times across the EMR network over the next few weeks due to engineering works. The disruption will mostly affect early or late trains.
Some services will be affected this weekend. Please check your journey on the EMR website for the latest information.
Northern: Works taking place affecting Castleford taking place on Sundays until 18 December.
The Leeds - Nottingham service (and vice versa) will be diverted to call at Wakefield Westgate on Sunday 11 December.

Nottingham City Council is seeking views on plans to make significant changes to a roundabout on Maid Marian Way.
The scheme is focused on the northern end of the road and will also include changes to the junction with Mount Street. The survey closes on Sunday 18 December.

Over 4,000 streetlights replaced with new LEDs
We’re on track to replace 34,300 lights with new energy saving LED (light-emitting diode) sources. Nottingham City Council successfully bid for £7m from the Government’s Levelling Up fund, which will be used for this work. Read more about it here!
