We re-elected Rev. Raphael Warnock to the U.S. Senate for a full term, securing a Democratic majority for the next two years.
While the vote count is still being finalized, here’s what we know.
We know that each county of the 4th District turned out in massive numbers for Rev. Warnock.
We know that Rev. Warnock’s lead was larger than experts were predicting.
We know that — despite that large lead — DeKalb County once again put Rev. Warnock over the top and made the difference in defeating Herschel Walker, solidifying our role as Georgia’s blue wall.
We know that Georgia voters once again protected our fragile democracy and cast off the yoke of the dangerous MAGA movement.
And we know that the entire country has Georgia to thank.
Time after time, we’ve been called upon to keep the wolf at bay and defend our democracy, often after elections in other states have ended and the scoreboard is tied. And time after time, we’ve come through. Because Georgia is democracy’s closer.
I could not be more proud or fulfilled to live among, represent, work with, and be supported by such good people. Thank you.
Our work will continue. But for now, enjoy the moment and celebrate how far we’ve come. As I said heading into the general election over a month ago, borrowing from the great James Brown:
I feel good!
