International Human Rights Day

Celebrating the Unalienable Right to Life!

Today, Americans United for Life celebrates humanity and proclaims that all humans around the world are valuable and worthy of unalienable rights, especially the human right to life. Regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, citizenship, sex, gender, or any other identity or characteristic, all human beings have the basic right to live. It is recognized around the world that we, the human species, have a moral obligation to protect human life.

We are called to remember human rights atrocities like involuntary servitude, ethnic cleansing, forced abortions, child and elder abuse, war crimes, and other human rights horrors. We are reminded that we cannot take for granted the rightful treatment of humanity. We remember the bloodshed of war; the sacrifice of leaders who have stood up for truth, justice, and freedom; and most of all, we remember the victims themselves.

American Life Initiative

Americans United for Life is committed to protecting the human right to life, working towards an America where all are welcomed in life and protected by law. We recently launched our American Life Initiative to provide a roadmap for the pro-life movement Post-Roe. We are fighting for life in the states, in the courts, and at the federal level. Our ultimate destination as a movement is a cultural shift in America where the humanity of all life is protected. In the American Life Initiative AUL offers a constitutional amendment to address the human rights violation of abortion once and for all:

Abortion Abolition Amendment

Section 1. Neither abortion nor any form of intentional termination of a human life in utero shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction; provided, however, that the term “abortion” shall not include medical procedures to resolve a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy, or necessary to preserve the life of a pregnant woman or to address a serious risk of substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function.

Section 2. Congress and the several States, as well as the territories of the United States, shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

Section 3. Any citizen of a State or territory of the United States shall have the right to bring an action in federal district court of the district wherein that citizen resides for equitable relief to enforce the provisions of this article, and upon prevailing, shall recover reasonable costs and attorney’s fees., but the suit otherwise shall be brought in accordance with the articles of the Constitution.
