NPR is out with a report about violence against LGBTQ+ people.

According to the data, LGBTQ+ people are far more likely to experience violence than non-LGBTQ+ people.

And while only the most horrific attacks make the national news, LGBTQ+ folks are faced with hate on a daily basis. Every day, LGBTQ+ people experience discrimination in the workplace, in schools, and on the street.

Despite this nationwide epidemic of anti-LGBTQ+ violence and discrimination, 27 states have no explicit protections for LGBTQ+ folks.

Instead of addressing the rising tide of anti-LGBTQ+ violence, right-wing politicians attack and smear LGBTQ+ folks with outdated myths and bigoted rhetoric.

We can’t stop violence against LGBTQ+ people overnight, but we can start by voting out anti-LGBTQ+ politicians that attack LGBTQ+ people.
