Dear Mr. xxxxxx,
I voted for the Inflation Reduction Act to make two things clear: Clean energy lowers costs and makes our nation more energy independent. The legislation empowers hardworking Americans to buy American-made electric vehicles and save on home renovations, creating remarkable savings for their families. Today I’m sharing some of the savings made available to you through the Inflation Reduction Act.
RETROFITTING HOMES & BUSINESS
- Starting next year, South Jerseyans can get $1,200 back in tax credits to make homes more energy efficient and save on utility bills.
- Credits can go towards new windows, doors, heat pumps, water heaters, and more!
BUYING ELECTRIC VEHICLES
- South Jerseyans can get up to $7,500 off a new electric vehicle and $4,000 for a used electric vehicle made in America. Here is the Department of Energy's list of models.
- Constituents can claim the credit by filling out this form and attaching their annual tax filing.
INSTALLING CLEAN ENERGY
- South Jerseyans can offset 30% of the cost of residential clean energy systems. Here is a helpful FAQ to learn more about these tax credits.
- In addition, the Inflation Reduction Act has sent over $183 million to New Jersey to develop grant programs that help working- and middle-class families install clean energy. Learn more here.
As we move towards an American-made clean energy future, my goal is to put money in your pocket, not in the pockets of Wall Street billionaires. If you have any questions about legislation or need help with a federal agency, call me at (856) 427-7000 and visit my website. It's an honor to serve you.
Sincerely,
Donald Norcross Member of Congress
