John –
It’s been exactly one year since Sen. Dianne Feinstein introduced the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019 in the Senate. This legislation would save lives and prevent massacres like those in Las Vegas and Parkland.
But instead of stopping tragedies, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refuses to bring this bill up for a vote. Even after Gilroy. And El Paso. And Dayton. And the massacres in Odessa and Midland, Texas.
Data proves that banning assault weapons saves lives. In the decade after the original federal assault weapons ban expired, mass shootings deaths increased by 347%. The main difference from the previous decade? Access to assault weapons – the weapon of choice for mass shooters in America.
We can’t keep waiting while more and more people are killed. In 2020, we need your help to demand Mitch McConnell take action in the Senate to pass laws like the assault weapons ban, which we know will save lives. We want to measure the strength of our supporters conviction on this issue and are counting on at least 570 more responses to complete our grassroots analysis.
Will you take our one-question survey before midnight to let us know what you think? Tell us:
Do you demand Mitch McConnell pass the assault weapons ban?
