If you haven’t seen the news, Democratic Mayor of New York, Eric Adams, will begin forcibly hospitalizing unhoused people who are mentally ill.
Read that again, friends.
I honestly thought I was reading an article by The Onion when I first saw this… but sadly, it’s very real. This is another example of inexcusable, Democrat-driven failure at the local level.
At B/E PAC, we are simply disgusted.
I don’t know about you, but I for one am sick and tired of seeing our own Party betray the values we claim to be fighting for — passing policies that benefit the people who are driving up rent, instead of helping those who can’t afford it.
This is why as a PAC, we have maintained our focus of electing progressive Democrats locally in areas where we can win and make an impact.
Our endorsed Barrier To Entry PAC candidates saw huge success in the 2021-2022 election cycle. We are fighting back at the local level to keep out-of-touch corporate Democrats like NYC Mayor Eric Adams out of office.
As just one example -- Because of your strong support, we helped elect Commissioner Shenise Turner-Sloss to Dayton City Commission where she led the charge to eliminate Shot Spotter from the city’s budget — an ineffective and unreliable police surveillance technology. Now, she is leading the charge for a more equitable city budget that the people of Dayton have been calling out for yet have been denied.
Leaders like Shenise are the type of working-class champions that B/E works to elect because we need to make sure that corrupt, bad Democrats like Eric Adams stay away from levers of power within our Party and in our cities.
Our work isn't over yet. There are still municipal elections ahead in places like New Jersey this cycle. Can you chip in $20 to help us take our fight to the next level?
