Dear Friend,

A lot has happened in Congress this week, and I thought I would try something a little different to give you an update! Here is this week fighting for New Mexicans in three photos:

This week, we passed the 2022 Water Resources Development Act and the National Defense Authorization Act – omnibus bills that represent a massive investment in programs to support New Mexico’s economy, the protection of our lands and waters, and our national security. I’m proud that I was able to secure $84.5 million for critical water infrastructure projects and programs in New Mexico that are now headed to the President’s desk!

On Tuesday, we were also honored to host New Mexican community leaders visiting Washington D.C. during our office’s weekly breakfast! We had a great time discussing our shared priorities for the future of our district, the challenges New Mexicans are facing, and the ways we can work in partnership to support our communities with the resources they need to thrive.

This week, I was also honored to join President Biden and the First Lady to celebrate all that we have accomplished for our communities this year at the White House Holiday Ball. As we kicked off the holiday season, I was grateful to be surrounded by friends and colleagues who continue to dedicate themselves to working tirelessly for the people.

As we celebrate the beginning of the holiday season, my work to build a more just, equitable, and sustainable future for New Mexico continues. As always, if I can be of any assistance to you or your family, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or my staff at (505) 346-6781. If you’d like to keep up to date on what I am working on in Washington on behalf of New Mexico’s First Congressional District and our communities, you can subscribe to our newsletter here, and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
