Hi John, You've probably read by now our Action Alerts from this morning saying two things: (1) That your calls and messages into Congress have caused Members of Congress to think twice about voting for the job-giveaway EAGLE Act, which would turn temporary job visas into PERMANENT RESIDENCE. Result of the bill? MORE AMERICANS WOULD LOSE THEIR JOBS to low-wage foreign workers! (2) That House Democratic leaders have postponed the vote. Because of the legislative schedule, next week is the last official time on the schedule that they can pass this bill to replace Americans with foreign workers. However, it appears Congress will be staying in for even more of December than previously planned. So we have to RE-DOUBLE OUR CALLS and push harder to kill this bill. Because of the pressure of our army of citizen-activists, many House Republicans and Democrats are LOSING THEIR NERVE! They are beginning to see that there will be consequences if they vote for a job-killing bill just as many Americans are reeling from inflation and recovering from COVID shutdowns. WE NEARLY HAVE THEM!!! To get us across the finish line, we must have some funding for our efforts. Frankly, most donations that usually would go to us this fall instead were diverted by our politically involved members to campaigns of favored candidates in the midterm elections. As a result, NUMBERSUSA ACTION IS CURRENTLY RUNNING IN THE RED!
