Congressman Al Green Partners with Houston Community College (HCC) and Houston MBDA to Host Informational Webinar for Small Business Community
(Houston, TX) – On Friday, December 9, 2022, Congressman Al Green, in partnership with HCC and Houston MBDA, will host an informational webinar for entrepreneurs who are either established or planning to grow their business. He released the following statement:
“Minority-owned small businesses are an indispensable economic engine for our city and entire nation that create jobs, drive innovation, as well as make the U.S. a more competitive player on the global stage. However, for these small enterprises to thrive, minority business owners need to have access to resources and capital,” Congressman Al Green said. “This is why I introduced the Minority Business Resiliency Act, which was codified into law through President Biden’s Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. My legislation establishes rural minority business centers, establishes a grant program for minority businesses, and makes the Minority Business Development Agency a permanent agency under the U.S. Department of Commerce.”
Congressman Al Green continued, “I am proud to continue championing individual economic mobility for minorities and helping keep the American economy moving forward by hosting this webinar with HCC. Thank you, HCC, for your invaluable support and for expanding business opportunities for minority entrepreneurs across the Greater Houston area.”
Houston Community College Chancellor Dr. Cesar Maldonado – who will be a featured guest at the webinar – shared, “Houston Community College is honored to host the MBDA Business Center and is proud of the impact on the Houston business community. Our mission is to impact the local economy with an emphasis on equity, access and providing the skills to achieve the American dream. Our HCC-MBDA team is making an important contribution and making a difference.”
