John, I'm excited to share the latest from CRC with you:How did organized labor become so corrupt? ([link removed]
Corruption in organized labor is nearly as old as formal labor unions in the United States. Most historians of labor corruption agree that employers had much to do in starting it, as they hired muscle to break strikes, inducing labor organizers to employ their own muscle. CRC's Michael Watson takes a tour through some of labor's more colorful pages and people here ([link removed] lobbies for the lawyers? ([link removed]
Americans sue each other a lot, and they spend a great deal of money doing so. Lawyers have a financial interest in enabling these lawsuits. Enter the American Association for Justice, the most prominent organization of the "Lawsuit Lobby," which seeks to advance the interests of trial lawyers. CRC's Robert Stilson examines how lawyers work to tilt the justice system in their favor here ([link removed] is ERIC really doing? ([link removed]
The Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) has been touted as a nonpartisan, good-government solution to messy voter rolls. At present, 32 states representing over 61 percent of the U.S. population are ERIC members. Yet its murky origins, ties to partisan activists, and favored spot in the Left's mammoth voter registration machine suggest something more is afoot. CRC's Hayden Ludwig peels back the facade here ([link removed] is billionaire MacKenzie Scott? ([link removed]
In a 2020, MacKenzie Scott, ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, announced $1.7 billion in philanthropic grantmaking. Larger waves of gift giving followed in 2021 and 2022. Unsurprisingly, her giving has included large amounts for left-wing causes such as racial equity, LBGTQ+ equity, gender equity, climate change, and Democratic get-out-the-vote efforts. CRC's Parker Thayer looks at one of the newest left-wing billionaire philanthropists here ([link removed]

Local News or Political Propaganda?
Political activists are always trying to "spin" stories to the news media. Now they have gone further by trying to create their own fake news media to fool voters, especially if they live in a swing state.
Just in time for the midterm elections, David Brock, a longtime Democratic activist and Hillary Clinton crony, launched a news media company based in Washington, DC, that masquerades as a group of local news sites. Voters in the battleground states of Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin began seeing stories written by activist reporters working for The Independent, a DC-based outfit funded in part by American Bridge, Brock's super PAC that is aligned with the Democratic Party.

A Crisis in Our Classrooms with Armstrong Williams
In this episode ([link removed] This month, three African American writers/activists with widely different political views published a book together entitled Crisis in the Classroom. Despite their many differences, the authors teamed up to insist that the civil rights issue of today is the failure to educate young Americans.
Coauthor Armstrong Williams joins Capital Research Center's Scott Walter and podcast host Mike Watson to discuss the book and the crisis.
