Today the Fraser Institute published Waiting Your Turn, our annual survey of physicians across Canada regarding medical treatment wait times.

The study reports a median wait time of 27.4 weeks — the longest ever recorded.

It is up from 25.6 weeks last year, and is a whopping 195% higher than in 1993, when we began tracking wait times.

The survey results indicate that COVID-19 and related hospital closures have exacerbated, but are not the cause, of Canada’s historic wait times challenges.
