Hello,
“Arizona’s Governor for Tough Times” – That’s what the Arizona Republic said 8 years ago when the newspaper endorsed Governor Ducey. And what an 8 years it’s been.
There are 25 days left of Governor Ducey’s term, and in the words of the great George Will, Governor Ducey is now “the nation’s most successful governor of the 21st century.”
Today, a website was launched detailing all the highlights of the Governor’s 8 years – housed in one new and permanent place: TheDuceyYears.com
On this website, you can search by year and by policy for a full catalog of all that has been accomplished with the partnership, of course, of some great people, including many legislators, leaders in the business community and with your help and support.
TheDuceyYears.com archive details just how far our state has come since 2014.
Some highlights:
-
The economy has undergone transformation. Jobs are plentiful and major companies have moved here or expanded here, capped by TSMC’s recent announcement. Arizona’s economy is on a roll.
-
Arizona has 5,000 fewer government jobs than it did in December 2014 before Governor Ducey took office, but nearly 500,000 additional private sector jobs. All while our population has grown by more than 1/2 a million people.
-
Since 2015, Arizona has added more than 496,200 jobs, including 39,000 manufacturing jobs and 63,000 construction jobs.
-
Between 2015 and 2020, the state's poverty rate declined from 17.4% to 12.8%, tied for the fastest poverty rate decrease during that time. And the number of people in poverty in Arizona dropped by more than 226,000 between 2015 and 2020, while the number of unemployed Arizonans has dropped by 61,059 over the same period.
-
We’ve got the highest Rainy Day Savings Fund balance in state history = $1.4 billion. Meanwhile, we are home to the lowest flat tax in the nation at 2.5%.
-
The State has paid down total debt obligations owed through FY 2031 by $3.3 billion, leaving the State with only $603 million owed through FY 2031.
-
And don’t forget: K-12 education funding. Total additional = more than $11 billion. Per-pupil funding is at a record high.
There is so much more, from school choice to civics, and tele-health to water. Governor Ducey’s leadership has undoubtedly had an impact on our state.
Please join us in celebrating his accomplishments.
Thank you for all you’ve done and continue to do for the State of Arizona.
From,
Team Ducey
