John,
This Saturday is World Human Rights Day. We’d like to
celebrate the UK’s role in defending human rights, but our Government
routinely tramples upon them.
Nowhere is this clearer than in the Government’s appalling
treatment of people seeking asylum in the UK. The Home Secretary,
Prime Minister, and the rest of that lot in government have spread
dangerous myths about migration that make all of us less safe.
Unfortunately, certain news outlets have spread these myths so
widely that many people in the UK have a very inaccurate view of the
UK’s asylum and immigration systems. We need your help setting the
record straight.
In our new blog, we’ve
debunked seven of the most common myths about migration – so you
can provide the facts when you hear them. By reading and sharing it,
you can help reverse the Government’s narrative.
Compared to the rest of the world, do you think the UK
is:

And we want your input, too. We want to hear how immigration has
made your experience of the UK richer. Tell
us in the survey how immigration in the past and present has been a
vital part of your story of the UK - we’ll be sharing your stories
in the coming days so please help us celebrate Human Rights Day
by celebrating what migrants have brought to the UK rather than
vilifying them!
With your help, we can stop the Government shamefully targeting
people seeking asylum and spread the love for every immigrant past,
present and future–the UK wouldn’t be the same without everyone.
Best wishes,
The Best for Britain team
