President Donald Trump continued drawing criticism Monday for tweets over the weekend attacking Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., and his congressional district in Baltimore. Trump's tweets follow closely on racist comments he made on Twitter about four minority House Democrats earlier this month.

The controversy over Trump's latest remarks takes places as 2020 Democratic presidential contenders get set for the next round of primary debates in Detroit on Tuesday and Wednesday.
