BREAKING: Congress passes the Respect for Marriage Act, granting federal protections to same-sex and interracial marriages

Folks,

Today, our country took a historic and much-needed step in the right direction.

By passing the Respect for Marriage Act, we are guaranteeing all Americans the right to marry the person they love. Specifically, we’re providing crucial and long overdue protections for both same-sex and interracial couples.

This is the type of progress we can make when we elect leaders committed to protecting our freedoms and defending our rights. But we also can’t remain satisfied with where we stand.

It’s past time to codify Roe v. Wade into law to protect abortion access. And we need to pass legislation to protect every American’s fundamental right to birth control.

We cannot let the GOP continue to attack our most personal freedoms, which is why I’m asking for your help to grow our Democratic coalition so we can take back the House majority.
