Dear John, Throughout my lifetime, I have seen so many ways that Maine’s economy, ecosystems, and public health have been impacted by climate change.
Growing up in Maine, we used to eat local shrimp. But this fishery has been closed for years now. Maine’s ocean waters are too warm to support a viable shrimp industry.
Recently, the school nurse found a deer tick on my son’s head, which served as a reminder that tick checks are now needed across all seasons. Deer ticks were not a concern when I was young and romping about in the woods.
It is urgent that we act on the climate crisis together—now! Please support the climate advocacy work of Maine Conservation Voters (MCV) with a year-end gift today. |
There is a lot of work in the year ahead, but with your support MCV staff will be in Augusta every day, voicing support for Maine's environment and advancing the goals of Maine’s Climate Action Plan.
Please stand by our side with a gift today to help make the most of the important opportunity to work with pro-climate Governor Mills, her Administration, legislators, and community members in the year ahead. This is the moment to partner with MCV for a sustainable Maine and more equitable future for all.
Thank you for standing by our side as we work to safeguard the nature and communities of this place that we love and call home, |
