Sign the petition: Tell Congress to cancel student debt while President Biden’s forgiveness plan is held up in the courts

President Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan is currently held up in the courts, and the financial security of 43 million Americans hangs in the balance.
It doesn’t have to end this way: Congress has the opportunity to cancel student debt before the start of the new year. If Congress takes action now, Americans will have more money to spend in their local economies – which means local businesses will make more revenue and hire more workers, growing the economy from the middle out and bottom up.
That’s why we’re calling on Congress to pass student debt relief before Democrats lose their House majority. If you believe in using student loan forgiveness to boost our economy, will you sign our petition now?

Canceling student debt is a middle-out economic policy that would inject billions of dollars into our economy. Every dollar borrowers pay to lenders is one dollar less spent at the local movie theater or restaurant, cafe or auto repair shop. If we free up millions of Americans’ income by canceling student loan debt, they’ll have more money to spend in their local communities, which grows the economy for all of us.
But with Republicans set to take narrow control of the House in January, our window to secure this huge middle-out victory is closing.
If you’ve been following the court cases against Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan, you’ll know that we’re up against a massive trickle-down wall of backlash. With repayments set to start again in mid-2023, it’s absolutely critical that you speak out today and tell Congress to cancel student debt.
Please, add your name now to call on Congress to pass student debt relief while President Biden’s plan is held up in the courts.
