Remember all those political ads about the rise in crime rates? Their go-to "solutions" were more police, prosecutions, and prisons. But those things haven't made us safer.

EJUSA works with people directly impacted by violence and those failing systems. And they’ve told us that safety is not just the absence of violence. Safety is the presence of well-being.

Solutions to violence must come from the communities closest to the harm. And these communities are already building solutions that work!

• They're training their own to intervene in violence on the streets. 
• They're meeting survivors of harm at the hospital bedside to prevent retaliation. 
• They're building centers where community members can get healing for the trauma they carry. 
• And they're redefining justice by taking ownership of public safety.
