Dear John,

Right now, across the UK, reindeer and other animals are getting ready to face a winter of suffering, and they need your help.

Animals like reindeer are used as if they are Christmas decorations to entertain crowds of people at festive events up and down the country. Events like Christmas lights switch-ons, shopping centres, reindeer parades and Santa’s grottos.

With your help, we can take action and fight against this cruelty, and we can fight for animals like Dancer and Dazzler.

Poor Dancer and Dazzler are two reindeer that have spent nine years living at a Hawley Garden Centre in Dartford, Kent. Reindeer are semi-wild, sensitive animals who should be free to roam the arctic tundra in large herds, not trapped in a garden centre in Kent.

These events bring immense stress to animals, who are often forced into tiny pens, and made to endure bright lights, loud noises, and interact with people and manhandled by strangers.

Each year, around the beginning of October, we start our campaign to end the use of animals in festive events, events like the one at this garden centre. And each year we make huge strides against such cruelty and see many events go animal free. Just like last year, with Tesco owned supermarket Jacks, which cancelled all twelve of their events as a result of our campaign and went animal-free!

Of course, it is not just reindeer that suffer. Penguins, owls, camels, and so many others are also used at this time of year.

This must STOP now! And with your donation we will again make huge strides to end this cruelty at Christmas!

This year we are aiming to make this campaign even bigger than the last. With your help we can achieve this!

With your gift today we will:
* Run more online actions than ever before to let everyone speak out for animals
* Provide support and campaign materials to groups and individuals, so they can get active and protest against this cruelty
* Run a wider campaign across social media to highlight the suffering that these animals endure each and every Christmas
* Equip an investigator to visit festive events and collect vital evidence of the suffering involved

Your kind donation really will make a difference to the lives of animals this festive period! By donating today you can help us take action against events like the one that Dancer and Dazzler have been forced to endure for the last nine years. Plus, many events that go ahead are advertised last minute, so we must be ready to take action at a moment’s notice. With your help we can do this.

I know that you feel the same way I do, that animals are not ‘ours’ to exploit and they deserve so much better. They deserve to be free from pain and suffering. They deserve FREEDOM!

The tide is turning on events like this, and we, with your help and support, will be there every step of the way until we reach a future free from animal exploitation.

For the animals,

Dr Andrew Kelly
