Friend, we’re a month past Election Day, and I’m still on cloud nine.

You see, heading into election season, California Environmental Voters had already helped deliver an unprecedented year of climate action, including $54 billion for climate in the state budget, billions more federally from the Inflation Reduction Act, and a slew of landmark bills in California.

Now, because of our electoral success, including winning 49 of 56 state legislative races, California should have an even bigger climate year in 2023 — with your help!

Having a near-climate majority in the Legislature in place is a huge testament to the work EnviroVoters had done this year and for years building the power to change what’s possible in California.

Will you make a gift before the end of the year to fund our advocacy and accountability efforts? Friend, your generosity is what will turn those 2022 electoral wins into policy results in 2023.

EnviroVoters has been delivering environmental and climate victories since its founding 50 years ago, but 2022 was next level.

A first-in-the-world comprehensive policy to combat plastic pollution? We were on the phone with state leaders to get that over the finish line.

That historic $54 climate budget? We ran a months-long, multifaceted campaign to increase it by 46% after we were dissatisfied with the initial $37 billion proposal.

California’s 2022 climate wins like these simply do not happen without the advocacy and accountability from organizations like EnviroVoters. And your financial support is what funds our work that leads to bold climate action, friend.

Then, this fall, EnviroVoters was successful in electing champions for clean air and public health to Congress and the State Senate and Assembly all the way down to the local level.

We were strategic in how we used our resources to tip the scales, especially going head to head against the oil industry. As we welcome a more climate-focused State Senate and Assembly after a historic 2022, we are looking forward to pushing our leaders to double down on the movement.

And honestly, our strength and influence might be even more evident in our electoral losses. EnviroVoters is so powerful that it took a record number of billionaires to stop us from passing Prop 30 and millions of dollars from corporate polluters to defeat our State Senate candidate in a key race in Sacramento.

I’m so excited for 2023. Because I’m confident we’ll build on the climate progress we achieved this year.

We have the right team in place, with the right message and right solutions. We have the relationships, and we have the influence.

The only thing we need is your continued support to give us the resources to effect change at a global level. Before we turn the page on 2022, will you make a contribution today to fund more climate history in 2023?
