A new subvariant of the COVID virus is spreading globally and this variant has the ability to avoid the antibodies of booster vaccines and even from previous infections. The virus has yet to create a wave of cases, but new infections are spreading so quickly that Californians may be ordered to wear masks indoors again.

Utility workers are close to restoring electricity for people in North Carolina after an attack on a substation, but can the nation’s power grid be protected against future attacks? Our electrical grid is vulnerable and constantly under assault from cyber criminals as well as physical attackers and vandals. I will point you toward a database that tracks the attacks state-by-state.

The FDA says the half million patients who undergo Lasik eye surgery each year should be warned of possible negative outcomes including “dry eye” and droopy eyelids. Physicians who do the surgery say the FDA is ignoring surveys that show more than 90% of patients are satisfied with the outcome of their surgery.
