The California Democratic Party’s ADEM candidate registration deadline is December 9, 2022 at 12 p.m.

The California Democratic Party recently launched its 2023 ADEM Election! Community activists have an opportunity to become an Assembly District Delegate, engage in CADEM’s long-term coalition and community building efforts, and work to ensure that we continue electing Democrats up and down the ballot.

The California Democratic Party Bylaws (Article VI) provide that an Assembly District Election Meetings (ADEMS) be held in each of the 80 California Assembly Districts in January of each odd-numbered year to elect 7 “self-identified female” and 7 “other than self-identified female” to be Assembly District Delegates (ADDs) to represent the Assembly District they are registered in. These elections are open to all California Democrats.

Delegates get the opportunity to:
* Increase your political impact by voting for the endorsements of the California Democratic Party for partisan legislative and statewide office in California,
* vote for positions we take on the Ballot Propositions,
* build a community with passionate and diverse California Democrats,
* take on greater responsibility as a voice for your local district when establishing the official California Democratic State Platform (in even-numbered years), and
* elect 16-25 CADEM Regional Directors who function as your liaison between the California Democratic Party, County Central Committees, and Democratic Party Clubs
