keeping you up to date on all things Northeast Wisconsin The November NEWsflash Friend, Welcome back to the November edition of The NEWsflash, a collection of stories and happenings from Northeast Wisconsin over the past month. November featured celebrations honoring the veterans community in Northeast Wisconsin and reminded us of all the things we have to be thankful for in our little corner of the world. I've included some photos and highlights from a few of the events my team and I were able to attend. You can also find information on how my office can help you with any federal problem you may have. As always, please don't hesitate to contact my office if we can ever be of assistance. Semper Fi, Welcoming our Veterans Home: To kick off the month, I met veterans and their guardians as they returned to the Appleton Airport after their Old Glory Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. I always love to join the crowd in welcoming veterans home from these trips, and it was especially moving just before Veterans Day. Excellerate-ing LIttle Chute: A member of my team joined Excellerate, a leading electrical manufacturing company, for the ground breaking on their 385,000-square-foot expansion in Little Chute. This expansion will create over 200 jobs by its completion in the fall of 2023, and will be used to manufacture off-grid energy solutions and electric vehicle charging depots. Grabbing Breakfast with Veterans: On Veterans Day, I had breakfast at Duck Creek Pub in Green Bay. New owners, Joel and Tracy Graham, have continued Duck Creek Pub's long-held tradition honoring our vets, and the breakfast was a great way to kick off a busy day. Thanks for having me! Speaking at the Museum: I also had the opportunity to speak at the United Patriotic Societies Veteran's Day celebration at the Neville Public Museum. Northeast Wisconsin has a deep appreciation for the service and sacrifice of our veteran community, and it's always and it's always special to see NEW come together to honor those who served. Celebrating Veterans Day: A member of my team was able to attend the Fox Valley Veterans Council's annual Veterans Day Event at the Outagamie County Courthouse. The Patriot Guard, Scarlet Guard and American Legion Post 38 Rifle Guard participated, and Chief Master Sergeant Jessica Maple of the Wisconsin Air National Guard gave remarks. The event was a wonderful way to honor the sacrifice of the veteran community. Remembering Oneida Veterans: My team was also able to join the Oneida Nation as they unveiled a sign recognizing their official designation as a Purple Heart Reservation. The sign honors and remembers Oneida Nation veterans who were wounded or killed in action. Recognizing Willem Luebke's Work: A member of my staff attended the Eagle Scout Ceremony for Willem Luebke, who repaired horse shelters and paddocks at a local therapeutic horse farm as his Eagle Scout project. Congratulations, Willem! Lighting the Bridgeway: For the past several years, Oneida Nation has decorated Duck Creek Bridge along Highway 54 with Christmas lights. A member of my staff was able to enjoy the night, which featured horse-drawn wagon rides and hot beverages and food served by Oneida Veterans -- a great way to get in Christmas spirit! Reducing Emissions: A member of my staff had the opportunity to attend the ribbon cutting of the Dynamic Renewables, BC Organics commercial biorefinery. When fully operational, the 16 digester tanks will accept more than 900,000 gallons of manure from 11 multi-generational local dairy farms daily, reducing potential greenhouse gas emissions and decreasing the volume of manure to be land applied. Opening Up Shop: A member of my team was also able to attend the grand opening of the new boutique, Creative Simplicity, in Little Chute. Creative Simplicity, owned by Meghan Beyer, is a place for members of the community to relax and express themselves through creative therapy classes and workshops. Meghan also runs Plum Crazy Designs in Kimberly. Congratulations, Meghan! Meeting with Local Leaders: My staff attended the HALO meeting held at the Hobart Village Hall. These meetings bring together leaders from Howard, Hobart, Ashwaubenon, Lawrence, Oneida Nation, and Suamico to solve issues at a community level. I appreciate the work that our local leaders have done in their communities and look forward to continuing our relationship.
