Germany on Wednesday detained 25 members and supporters of a far-right group that the prosecutor's office said was preparing a violent overthrow of the state to install as national leader a prince who had sought backing from Russia, as Reuters reports

In a remarkable pivot, the Chinese government announced a broad rollback of its "zero Covid" policies on Wednesday, an implicit concession to public discontent after mass street protests in late November posed the most widespread challenge to the ruling Communist Party in decades, as the NYT reports

In Berlin, Germany, Special Forces arrested 25 people suspected of supporting a domestic terrorist organization that planned to overthrow the government and form its own state, the federal prosecutor said on Wednesday. The prosecutors described the group as being influenced by the ideologies of the conspiracy group QAnon and a right-wing German conspiracy group called Reichsbürger or Citizens of the Reich.
