Dear John, As people of faith we are deeply concerned by the decision of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to bus thousands of scared, traumatized asylum seekers to cities in order to make a point about the border crisis. While we, too, are frustrated by the federal government’s lack of action on this issue, we believe that the Governor’s actions intensify an already significant crisis on our southern border. We invite Religious Leaders across the Gamaliel Network to join us in signing on to a letter to Gov. Abbott that conveys our concerns, urges him to end the transportation of migrants to other parts of the country, and invites him to work with us toward a moral solution. The letter to Gov. Abbott can be found here.
You may sign on to the letter here. Sign on to this letter now . . . your action can make a difference for the thousands of immigrants who have been impacted by Gov. Abbott’s harmful decision! Sí, se puede, Pablo Tapia, Gamaliel Civil Rights of Immigrants Campaign Chair |
