Dear John,
We did it: we re-elected Rev. Raphael Warnock. Because of you, we will continue to have a leader in the Senate who will fight to lower the outrageous cost of insulin, guarantee paid family leave, raise the minimum wage, and protect abortion rights.
With this victory, we also expanded our majority in the Senate to 51-49. This means Democratic majorities in the committees deciding what legislation and nominees get a vote, new judges who will fight for true equity and justice, and greater protection of our progressive agenda from corporate moderates and obstructionists like Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema.
To be clear, this work would not be possible without you, our amazing volunteers and activists. Here's what we accomplished together:
-
Field: We amassed a dedicated army of paid and volunteer canvassers that knocked nearly 100,000 doors across the Atlanta metro area, Brunswick, and Savannah.
-
Phone banking and texting: Nearly 1,000 volunteers have sent 3.6 million texts and made over 147,000 calls to voters from Atlanta to South Georgia and several places in between. We even broke our organizational record of texts sent in a single night, sending 1.4 million text messages in less than two hours.
-
Relational Organizing: Volunteers sent nearly 5,000 postcards to people they knew personally in Georgia asking them to turn out in the runoff.
John, we are proud of the work we've done together, and we're excited about what comes next. We also know that the work that we're doing together is about more than just one election. It's about building the multiracial feminist party of our dreams, and to do this, we need everyone to pitch in.
