Jack, Daily Kos is the country's biggest progressive news and activism outlet, and keeping it up and running is expensive. We work hard to keep costs down, and we're very good at it, but we can't nickel and dime our way to financial sustainability.
Nearly half of Daily Kos revenue comes from readers like you. 599,104 people have donated to support our work. And here's the cool part: more than two-thirds of those donations have been $20 or less. That's people power in action.
Next year is going to be rough. Trump is running for president again. He's already called for suspending the Constitution, without a peep of protest from Republicans in Congress. He's just one of probably a dozen or more Republicans who are going to run for president, and who knows what sort of bat$#@! ideas Ted Cruz, Ron DeSantis, Mike Pence, and other candidates are going to run on. (And that's to say nothing of what the new razor-thin Republican House majority might try to do with people like Marjorie Taylor Greene in power.)
It's going to take long hours and hard work to shut these extremists down—and it's going to be a whole lot harder if we start the year in a hole. That's why I'm writing to you today.
Right now, Daily Kos is $131,891 away from our annual goal. Can you donate $5 right now to help Daily Kos close the books on 2022?
