We are not going to sugarcoat it. The recent elections in Israel resulted in the most right wing government in Israel’s history and will include ministers who hold racist, homophobic and anti-democratic views. They label leftists as traitors and would be happy to see us fold our progressive Zionist tents. But that is not going to happen.
More than ever, we need your support so that we can do our part to combat these forces in Israel and their supporters in the United States.
Together with your help, we have increased our advocacy and programming this year. A few examples: |
Ameinu was the only Jewish communal organization to publicly castigate the ZOA when they honored former President Trump at their gala dinner. We received positive responses from across the community, and recently it appears the ZOA itself is having second thoughts… they actually criticized Trump’s habit of dining with antisemites.
It is critical that American Jews serve as allies to Palestinians suffering under the occupation. When the villagers of Al-Walaja received demolition orders from the city of Jerusalem for dozens of their homes, we helped build a coalition of organizations and individuals to support their cause. The Israeli Supreme Court temporarily enjoined the city from demolishing the structures and Ameinu established the fundraising hub to support the villagers’ efforts to create a new zoning plan for Al-Walaja. |

In these challenging times, it is imperative to engage with the younger generation. Due to our close ideological and organizational ties with the Habonim Dror youth movement, we have launched a national alumni project, providing programming under the Ameinu banner. |
Based upon Ameinu’s initiative,The Third Narrative, we were asked to sponsor a session at the recent J Street Conference entitled, Pro-Israel and Progressive: Making Clear It’s Not “Mission Impossible.”
Early next year, we are launching an all new website for The Third Narrative as we broaden our reach with this message. |

To continue and expand these efforts, we need your contribution to our year end campaign. Pushing back against the ultranationalist voices coming from Israel’s new government requires we support our colleagues on the ground in the region.
Will you please join us in this crucial effort?
