In Chaotic Times, FAIR Will Be Your Constant

Dear FAIR Friend,

To date in  2022, FAIR published 121 articles and 48 episodes of CounterSpin. With a small full-time staff of just four people and 2–4 interns each season, this is no easy feat—but it’s a labor of love. Your support has made it possible for us to work with a network of brilliant writers, who have areas of expertise in issues all over the world. Since the beginning, FAIR has never taken money from corporations or government entities. We’ve relied only on small grants and, most importantly, individual donations from our readers and listeners. Last year, more than 60% of our revenue came from people like you.

This year, we’re asking for the same support. We’re in the middle of our 2022 Year-End Fundraiser, with a goal to raise $70,000 by January 1.

With 2022 came lots of uncertainty. We’ve seen donations dip as the economic landscape becomes more fraught. We’ve seen our own expenses rise, too, but we are dedicated to keeping our content free for all readers, never compromising the in-depth research and meticulous factchecking that goes into our work. We believe information is most valuable when it gets into the hands of the many, not the few.

When you give generously to FAIR, you ensure that not only the next article, study and CounterSpin episode can come out, but also that we can keep doing this for years to come.

Please give what you can today, and give us a strong start to 2023.

To thank you for your contributions, we’re offering two gifts to choose from to help you spread FAIR’s message.

Donate $50 or more and choose!

The first is FAIR’s special edition 35th anniversary T-shirt, featuring a monopoly-busting design by Kim Balthazar-Fetsko that appeared on the October 2011 issue of Extra!. Shirts are union-made in the US.

The other is a tote bag, US-made from eco-friendly material by a licensee/affiliate with the Fair Labor Association. On one side is FAIR’s logo. The other side reads, “Corporate news: Rich people paying rich people to tell middle-class people to blame poor people.” This durable and handy tote allows you to take FAIR’s anti-elitist message with you wherever you go.

If you’re unable to give this year, the next best thing you can do is spread the word! Share our work with a friend or loved one!

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Olivia Riggio, Janine Jackson, Julie Hollar & Jim Naureckas

P.S. Shirts are 100% cotton. Tote bag is made from poly cotton material and is 13″ wide x 14″ high x 3″ gusset with 25″ spun poly handles.

FAIR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your donation is tax-deductible.
