We stopped Senator Manchin’s dirty pipeline deal in September, and we stopped it again this week after people across the country mobilized in opposition, generating more than 1,300 calls to Congress!
Although we stopped the dirty deal from being voted on this week, we have to act again quickly because Senator Manchin is trying to attach the deal as an amendment to legislation that needs to pass before the end of the year. Congress will be voting on this bill any day now!
It’s time for us to fight hard to stop the dirty deal – once and for all.
Can you take two minutes to call your senators at 1-888-997-5380 and tell them to oppose the dirty deal? Making a call is a simple act, but it can have a big impact. Here’s what to do.
1. Dial your senators at 1-888-997-5380
2. Tell the office your name and zip code, then say:
“I’m urging my senator to vote NO on any amendment that would advance Manchin’s dirty permitting deal. I'm deeply concerned about any legislation that would fast-track fossil fuel projects and undermine our ability to give input on new energy projects.”
Manchin’s dirty deal would undermine our bedrock environmental laws, fast-track fossil fuel projects, and sacrifice environmental justice communities to more pollution.
Earlier this fall, thousands of people spoke out against Senator Manchin and Senator Schumer and defeated this dirty deal. We rallied, marched, lobbied, and flooded our representatives offices with phone calls. Now, during the final weeks of this Congress, lawmakers are attempting to revive it. It’s time to turn up the heat again.
Members of Congress are debating the final bills of the year right now. It's absolutely critical that we all take action today to stop the Dirty Deal.
Call your senators today at 1-888-997-5380 and urge them to oppose Manchin’s dirty deal!
Onward together,
