John,

Right now, abortion is still legal in Pennsylvania. But for many, it is already difficult to access abortion and reproductive health care.

Local abortion funds play a critical role in helping pregnant people receive the care they need, and they need our help to stretch every dollar.

Fortunately, the Abortion Liberation Fund of PA has a unique opportunity to access $100,000 in matching funds pledged by the Poor Richard's Charitable Trust. I'm passing along a note from their team because your support can go even further if you act now.

Will you help empower pregnant people and their families to make their own medical decisions? Chip in to support the Abortion Liberation Fund of PA now, and your impact will be doubled.

As a physician of over two decades, I have sat with pregnant people making incredibly difficult decisions and seen firsthand the challenges and stigma people face in accessing abortions and reproductive health care.

I know that organizations like the Abortion Liberation Fund of PA play a critical role in our health care system, so I hope you'll read the note below and choose to support them too.

Thanks for all that you do,

Val

Subject: Help us raise $100k in matching funds!

Hello,

The abortion access landscape continues to evolve following Dobbs vs. Jackson.

This fiscal year we have budgeted to give out nearly $850k in abortion funding. This is a 40% increase since I started with ALF-PA five years ago — a clear demonstration of the increased needs of our community facing growing restrictions across the country.

While the majority of our funding continues to support Philadelphia and surrounding counties, since Roe was overturned, we have supported people from Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia — all coming to PA/NJ for care.

Fortunately, our friends at Poor Richard's Charitable Trust have generously offered a $100k pledge to help cover our increased costs, agreeing to match in full your next donation received by December 31, 2022.

Between your support and theirs, we hope to raise at least $200k that will help us fund abortion care, build community power, and foster community support.

Whether you have $1 or $1,000 to give, gifts of all sizes make a difference and bolster our ability to fund abortion access! Will you chip in now? This is your chance to double your impact!

What gifts are eligible? All new gifts! If you choose to increase a recurring donation, the increased amount will be matched as well. Please email [email protected] [[email protected]] if you are interested in increasing your recurring donation. Monthly donations are a great way to have a sustained impact on our work, consider becoming a monthly donor today!

Not in a place to make a donation? We totally get that! You can always help by forwarding this email to your network.

Thank you for being part of our incredible story of our community coming together to ensure justice where it has been denied. We appreciate you.

In Solidarity,

Elicia Gonzales
Executive Director
