Today is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. States celebrating statehood this month include Delaware (the First State), Mississippi, and Pennsylvania. Bill of Rights Day is December 15. The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 has reached the Quarterfinals - eight of 32 teams remain.

National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day: December 7

According to the 2021 American Community Survey, of the 16.5 million veterans in the U.S., 4.0 million were 75 years and older, and 182,603 were WWII veterans.

Delaware 235th Anniversary of Statehood (1787): December 7

Delaware ratified the U.S. Constitution on December 7, 1787. It was the first of the original 13 colonies to join the Union and is thus known as ?The First State.?

Mississippi 205th Anniversary of Statehood (1817): December 10

Mississippi was admitted to the Union on December 10, 1817, as the 20th state, with generally the same boundary as the present state.

Pennsylvania 235th Anniversary of Statehood (1787): December 12

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania ratified the U.S. Constitution on December 12, 1787. It was the second of the original 13 colonies to join the Union.

Bill of Rights Day (1791): December 15

The first 10 amendments to the U.S. Constitution focus on individual rights and were ratified on December 15, 1791. Amendment I protects freedom of expression.

Virginia 245th Anniversary ? First State to Ratify the Articles of Confederation (1777): December 16

The Articles needed approval from all 13 states. First was Virginia on December 16, 1777, and last was Maryland on March 1, 1781. Three years, two months, and 14 days had passed.

FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022: Nov. 20 ? Dec. 18

The Round of 16 has ended. Eight teams will play the Quarterfinals Friday and Saturday: Netherlands vs. Argentina and Croatia vs. Brazil on Friday, and England vs. France and Morocco vs. Portugal on Saturday.
