FAMM is fighting to preserve judges' authority to resentence federal prisoners using compassionate release. Why? Because we know that the Bureau of Prisons does not always grant compassionate release to incarcerated people who deserve it.

In the next few months, the United States Sentencing Commission will be making important changes to the rules on compassionate release. This decision could have a huge impact on who can and cannot get compassionate release from federal prison.
