Interagency Council on Statistical Policy announces ResearchDataGov web portal [ [link removed] ]

The federal Interagency Council on Statistical Policy has announced a new feature in the standard application process (SAP) portal, ResearchDataGov. ResearchDataGov is a web-based portal that serves as a one-stop shop for visitors to browse a catalog of protected data collections. ?


* On December 8, 2022, the portal will begin accepting applications for access to confidential data in the federal statistical system. This announcement marks an important milestone. For the first time, primary statistical agencies and units will be using the same application for access to their restricted-use data. __
* The portal allows users to submit an application for access to data from one or more agencies and track application status.
* This change also facilitates data discovery by providing a clearinghouse of available data sets that users can search by topic, agency, and keywords.

BJS is one of 16 federal agencies adopting the new standardized process that expands access to protected data, as required by the Evidence Act of 2018.
