Dear NRDC Action Fund Activist,
Georgia voters re-elected Sen. Raphael Warnock to the U.S. Senate in a runoff election Tuesday, leading Democrats to a 51-49 majority in the Senate.
This is a resounding victory for climate action, environmental justice, and quality clean energy jobs across Georgia and across the country. And that success is due in part to the work NRDC Action Fund supporters like you did together to turn out pro-environment voters once again at this critical moment.
NRDC Action Fund supporters volunteered with our local partners in communities across the state, and they sent thousands of letters and texts to Georgia voters urging them to vote. Thank you.
Join us in celebrating Sen. Warnock's victory — share the exciting news with your networks on social media.
With a soon-to-be Republican-controlled House of Representatives, a strong pro-environment Senate is crucial to the fight for our planet's future. Sen. Warnock has been one of the Senate's strongest climate champions, spending his first two years in office fighting for a clean energy future to make our economy stronger, our communities healthier, and our country more secure.
What's more, a 51st Democrat in the Senate also means that important legislation or nominees can't be held up by one senator's objection, and that critical bills won't be weakened to satisfy a single senator's concerns. This can help us advance stronger pro-environment legislation, and more of it.
In short, Sen. Warnock's victory is a critical win for both our climate and a functioning democracy.
We're counting on Sen. Warnock and his fellow climate champions in the Senate to keep pushing for a clean energy agenda and the vast benefits it brings — and I hope you'll join us in fighting right alongside them.
Thank you for doing your part for climate action.
Sincerely,
Kevin S. Curtis
