As we approach the middle of the holiday season, we continue to experience a sharp drop in gasoline prices.

This drop in prices is helping slow down inflation and bring down the cost of groceries and other goods essential to the holidays season. The decline is also making it more affordable for families to travel and see their loved ones.

As your Congressman, I will always support initiatives that help us create local jobs and lower the prices of daily goods.

French President Macron's State Visit

As Co-Chair of the U.S. Congressional International Conservation Caucus, I was pleased to host President Macron of France for a luncheon to discuss conservation, energy, and other areas of shared interest. It is critical that our two nations continue to collaborate on these important issues.

The City of Pleasanton's Merry on Main Parade

My wife, Imelda, and I attended the City of Pleasanton’s Merry on Main Parade.

This year’s Merry On Main featured more than 70 local businesses, including food trucks, jewelry and clothing vendors, and much more. Thank you to everyone at the City of Pleasanton for bringing the holiday spirit to the families of Atascosa County.

Shertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD Toby Connor Agriculture Complex Visit

My good friend, Cibolo Mayor Stosh Boyle, took me by the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City (SCUC) ISD Toby Connor Agriculture Complex to visit with local students from the Cibolo Creek FFA Chapter. As a member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, I will continue to support students who are passionate about agriculture.

I had breakfast at Taqueria Vallarta #2 with representatives from local San Antonio unions. I ran into a veteran on the way out—thank you for your service. And thank you for the wonderful food!

The City of Cibolo’s 2^nd Annual Honoring our Nation’s Veterans Pow Wow

Imelda and I also joined the City of Cibolo for their 2^nd Annual Honoring our Nation’s Veterans Pow Wow. I was honored with a key to the city and a traditional honor dance. Thank you to Mayor Stosh Boyle and the City of Cibolo for your hospitality, and thank you to our veterans for your service.

Rio Grande City Greater Chamber of Commerce Parade Marshal Dinner

My Starr County Outreach Coordinador, Roberto Bazan, attended the Río Grande City Greater Chamber of Commerce Parade Marshal Dinner honoring Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez. There, Roberto presented Mr. Sanchez with a Congressional Certificate of Recognition. Thank you for your service!

Zapata County Christmas Parade

My Laredo office attended the annual Zapata County Christmas Parade. It was a great opportunity for the entire community to come together and rejoice in the holiday spirit.

City of Marion Christmas Tree Lighting

My Bexar County Outreach Coordinator, Eric Cleveland, attended the City of Marion's 36th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Thank you to all the city staff and volunteers who worked on decorating Marion to make the event possible.

Anabella Herbig’s 20^th Anniversary Celebration

My Laredo office also attended the 20th anniversary celebration for State Farm Insurance Agent Anabella Herbig in Laredo. Congratulations on your many years of success!

Lady Market Los 2 Laredos

My Laredo Outreach Coordinator, Melissa Peña, attended the Lady Market Los 2 Laredos hosted by the group Lady Multitask. Lady Multitask is a community created by women for women to support the development of businesses and promote local commerce.

Lighting of the Christmas Tree Rio Grande City

My Starr County Outreach Coordinador, Roberto Bazan, attended the Lighting of the Christmas Tree presented by Rio Grande City Main Street. The event had plenty of family fun, including performances from RGC HS Mariachi Cascabel, Grulla HS Mariachi Grulla de Plata, and the RGC IDEA Choir.

Cola Blanca Big Buck Contest

My Laredo office attended a press conference held by the Cola Blanca Big Buck Contest, Laredo Chamber of Commerce, and Sames Laredo Chevrolet to announce their new partnership and encourage hunters to register for the 2022-2023 contest.

Manadas Creek Wasterwater Treatment Plant

Melissa also attended the groundbreaking for the Manadas Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. This plant will be responsible for treating a minimum annual average flow of 4.75 MGD at facility start-up. At full capacity, it will be able to handle 9.5 MGD. This will be sufficient capacity to service an area of 11,438 acres, of which 4,497 are currently developed.
