Republican Infighting Needs to End in Order for Them to Lead
Hugh Hewitt: November’s elections revealed that we remain a 50-50 country… There’s a lesson here: America’s self-sorting into blue and red enclaves is far from complete. Citizens fleeing tax burdens know exactly where to move. In the main, red states such as Florida, Ohio and Iowa got redder. The GOP’s march to the House majority over the past two election cycles should buttress not just House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s claim on the speaker’s gavel but also GOP chair Ronna McDaniel’s bid for another term. McDaniel has built out enduring infrastructure in nearly every state, begun the expanded outreach to underrepresented minorities by establishing GOP community centers among ethnic enclaves, and has upped small-dollar donations. She appears poised to return — unless Donald Trump tries to change the rules governing the primaries. Infighting will waste time and momentum. Get on with the job ( Washington Post).

Sen. Raphael Warnock Defeats Herschel Walker in Georgia Senate Race
Fox News: Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock will defeat Republican challenger Herschel Walker in Georgia’s high stakes Senate runoff election, The Associated Press projects. While the Senate majority has already been decided, Warnock’s victory in the last ballot box showdown of the 2022 midterm elections gives the Democrats a 51-49 margin in the chamber and a bit of breathing room in their razor-thin control of the Senate ( Fox News).

Walmart CEO Says Theft Will Lead to Store Closures
CNBC: Walmart stores across the U.S. are grappling with an uptick in shoplifting that could lead to higher prices and closed stores if the problem persists, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said. When asked on Tuesday about how local jurisdictions handle shoplifting cases, McMillon said a lax approach from prosecutors could impact prices and lead to store closures down the line ( CNBC). Insider: The Bentonville, Arkansas-based retail giant is not the only retailer that has recently sounded the alarm on theft. Missing inventory has reduced Target’s gross margin by more than $400 million in 2022 compared with last year, and Target expects those profit losses to grow to $600 million by the end of the fiscal year, Target CFO Michael Fiddelke said in November during a company earnings call ( Insider).

Teacher Declines to Teach Proper Grammar Because it Perpetuates White Supremacism
Washington Examiner: A teacher in California who identifies as “cringey” is going viral after claiming she does not teach grammar usage and writing skills in an attempt to defeat white supremacy. Marta Shaffer teaches English at Oroville High School and uses linguistics to fight “white supremacy in my classes” and be “inclusive of all kinds of ways we use the language,” she said. The expectation that students should use syntax and proper grammar is based in a deep-rooted white supremacy culture, she argues ( Washington Examiner). Post Millennial: California English teacher says proper grammar is “white supremacist,” refuses to teach it ( Post Millennial).

Memphis Hospital Temporarily Pauses Trans Surgeries, ACLU Threatens to Sue
Daily Mail: A hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, says it has paused its services for transgender patients as the American Civil Liberties Union threatens to bring suit against a move the organization believes is illegal and discriminatory. Memphis-based Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare halted some of its treatment of transgender patients due to a number of care providers ‘voic(ing) questions about patients receiving gender-affirming procedures at a facility affiliated with our health system,’ said a spokesperson for MLH. ‘This resulted in a temporary pause to review current practices’ ( Daily Mail). Post Millennial: The ACLU statement suggests that gender-affirming care is life-saving despite the transition-or-suicide myth being debunked several times by experts ( Post Millennial).

Taiwanese Semiconductors Invests $40 Billion in Arizona
Daily Wire: Taiwanese semiconductor company TSMC will more than triple a previously planned $12 billion investment toward new facilities in Arizona as the global computer chip supply chain remains the focus of worldwide concern. Heritage Action Addresses Amnesty Plan
Katie Pavlich: Heritage Action is sounding the alarm over a reported bipartisan amnesty plan circulating on Capitol Hill and warning the scheme will make the current border crisis even worse… With the lame duck session already underway, the time for proposals to be completed and negotiated is limited. The news of amnesty, as the border crisis rages, is not sitting well ( Townhall). Stephen Miller: This is open borders propaganda, not journalism. A mass amnesty in the middle of history’s worst border crisis — along with a blank check to continue endemic voluntary catch-and-release — will result in many millions more illegally across our border. Which of course is the point ( Twitter).

Wall Street Journal: Former President Donald Trump‘s family business was convicted Tuesday of criminal tax fraud, with a New York jury finding the Trump Organization engaged in an off-the-books compensation scheme to pay some executives in car leases, apartments and cash. The jury found two Trump Organization corporate entities guilty of all criminal counts they faced, including conspiracy, criminal tax fraud and falsifying business records. The two entities could face a total of more than $1.6 million in fines ( Wall Street Journal). National Review: While Trump was not involved in the trial, prosecutors told jurors Trump had signed off on bonus checks and memos that allowed top executives to avoid reporting taxable income ( National Review).

Professor Disparages White People in Interview: "We gotta take these **** out"
Twitchy: We’ve seen a lot of ‘professors’ over the years saying some horrifically and monumentally stupid **** about almost every topic, but this from Rutger’s Professor Crunk about white people being the villain, whiteness having an end date, and her quite proudly claiming ‘we’ve gotta take these **** out,’ takes the racist cake. Can you imagine if a white professor said this about ANY race ( Twitchy)? Christopher Rufo: Rutgers professor says that “white people are committed to being villains” and falsely claims that Africans arrived in North America before white Europeans. “Whiteness is going to have an end date,” she warns. “We gotta take these **** out” ( Twitter). John Hawkins: Can you imagine being a white kid stuck being taught by a professor who advocates murdering you because of the color of your skin ( Twitter)?

GOP Senators Seek to Slow DOD Nominees Until Biden Answers for Punishing Military for Refusing COVID Vaccine
Townhall: A number of Republican Senators are vowing to hold up President Joe Biden’s Department of Defense nominees until the Pentagon explains why nearly all religious exemption requests — submitted in response to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate — were rejected. As of July, the U.S. Military punished 60,0000 soldiers for refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine ( Townhall). Sen. James Lankford: I’ve demanded answers on why the Biden admin has granted almost none of the thousands of religious exemption requests for military vaccine mandates. With no adequate response, I announced a hold on DOD nominees. Partial concessions in the NDAA won’t be enough – we need the truth ( Twitter).
